Volkova Lada Evgenievna (Lada Dance) was born on 11th of September 1966 in Kaliningrad. In 1986 she finished music school, where she studied vocal, later she graduated Musical Institute with a diploma of vocalist and vocal teacher. In 1990 she became a member of group "Zhensovet" (Female Community). But since 1992 Lada started her solo career. That days she cooperated with composer Leonid Velichkovski, together they did such hits as «Zhit' nuzhno v kaif» (To get everything from life), «Noch» (Night), «Reggae v nochi» (Reggae in the night). Then she acted in musical film on C1R "Starie pesni o glavnom-1" (Oldies about love). Lada also recorded several duets with established russian singers Iosif Kobzon & Lev Leschenko. As a guest star Lada Dance participated in music contests «Zvyozdniy Dozhd'-92» (Rain of stars), «50/5», «Hit-parade Ostankino» (1993), «Yalta-Moskva-Transit-93», «Golos Asii» (Voice of Asia). In 1997 Lada gave birth to her son Ilya. Being pregrant, she even managed to film
new video clip "Aromat Lyubvi" (Love Aroma. 5 years ago she had a big scandal in russian show-biz. Her song «Dai mne etot vecher» (Give me this evening) was obliged to be plagiarism of «Livin' La Vida Loca»), under this press her record company even asked Lada to stop performing it. But this scandal only brought more popularity to Lada Dance. Later she organized The Fund to help unmarried mothers to bring up their children. Recently she played the main role in tv series "Balzakovski Vozrast", which is russian analog of "Love and the City" Lada already has one connection with Eurovision. She did Russian cover of "Wir geben 'ne party" (German entry 1994), which title is "Net, ya ne budu". |
